The Anita Claire Project is a project very near and dear to my heart. Losing my mom this past summer was the most devastating time and the darkest hour of my life. In the time shortly after that, it hit me that one of the ways I wanted to honor her was through photography. I've worked in photography for over 10 years and decided to get behind the camera to capture moments and memories for other mothers and daughters. The bond between a mother and her daughter is indescribable. There is something intangible yet simultaneously palpable in the connection experienced and witnessed between mothers and daughters. The goal of this project? I had an extremely close bond with my mom and felt this would be a beautiful way to honor her, offer keepsakes to the participating mothers and daughters, and inspire others.
Launching the project on Mother's Day is my gift to her. The project will then feature mothers and daughters ongoing.
As much as I feel I chose the project, I truly believe this project chose me.
I love you, Mom.
